Pugsley is doing well and seems to mellow out at night which is great.

Questions for fellow pug owners:

Should i brush Pugsleys teeth (stupid question?)?
Should i clean his ears (definate wax build-up)?
How often should i clean his face, in the folds of skin etc?

Also he has had all of his jabs from when i got him at 7 weeks from the breeder. He is now 7 weeks and 5 days old, are his next jabs at 8 weeks? Don't worry he is going the vet on Monday, i just thought i would ask before hand. Also does pet insurance cover the jabs? If not how much are they?

Sorry for all the questions guys :)

Hi David,

What a darling - lovely pictures! Regarding the innoculations, usually there is a two week wait between jabs, as seven weeks is quite young for the first one. Just make sure he is not jabbed and wormed on the same day, some vets like to do it - almost before you have realised. It is too much for their delicate systems. Get Pugsley used to having his nose fold cleaned regularly, and his ears. Both very important. I use unscented baby wet wipes, they work a treat.

Hi! How has Pugsley been doing?

I don't brush Riley's teeth yet but I know that I'll have to eventually.

I heard that if you feed your dog raw chicken wings once in a while their teeth stay so clean that your vet will think he had his teah professionally cleaned. You HAVE to read up on that though, because I don't know how much or how often, and you'd have to clean up real well after cuz you don't want salmonila on your floors afterwards. :)

I just wipe Riley's ears w/ a sponge in the bath or w/ his bath wipes in between. Inside his ear but not deep in the canal. I don't know how often or how thorough the vets recommend. You'll have to ask.

I was cleaning Riley's skin folds daily but he still got a yeast problem afterall. I got MALASEB PLEDGETS from the vet (you can get them cheaper online from medi-vet.com) and they combat the yeast. Riley had a yeast problem which lead to scabbing, sores, and loss of hair. Mild, and not noticable unless u looked in the folds, but still, I wanted to stop it. Definately get some Malaseb Pledgets for his skin folds.

Good luck!
